Sister MamaCita is a Mothers' Cooperative in the Arts and sister group to MamaCita founded in 2005 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by Melissa Tevere. Our purpose is to bring together women artists in the tri state area to discuss and share their art, to offer constructive critique and encouragement, to find venues for the exhibition and sale of the group's work and ultimately, to inspire and motivate. Sister Mamacita's members are painters, printmakers, collage artists, sculptors, fiber artists, and ceramicists.  All members are active and dedicated artists/artisans and all members are mothers. While some of the cooperative's members are represented by galleries and some participate in art exhibitions and festivals, all members strive to balance their responsibilities as a mother with their need for a creative outlet. MamaCita and Sister Mamacita give women artists working in isolation a voice.  Our mission is to help each member reach her respective professional goals.
